ReplyDeleteExcuse me but I'd like to hear your advice. I've noticed to have about six different version of DDLJ soundtracks. Due to the limited space, I'd like to archive just one with the best quality. Would you have any tips what I should take into account and compare when making my decision? I have yours and... LP rip and several random versions (original source unknown, I suppose). All of them are in FLAC format.

ReplyDeleteI've read your excellent post about fake FLACs. In addition, have you noticed any differences in mastering etc. when it comes to the same soundtrack released by different company? I claim to hear the difference especially in the soundtracks where they have combined the music from two movies. They somehow sound... dullier. Am I a paranoid? Sorry, this is not exactly about DDJL.
By the way, I really appreciate your effort for sharing the music which quality you really take care of! Thank you so much! Unfortunately, there are not many reliable channels to get Indian nor Bollywood FLAC music - even real and HQ mp3s of rarer or older music are usually hard to find.
I don't really get into situation of different companies releasing same soundtrack.
DeleteThere's no soundtracks with songs from different movies. If you find them, they are usually fake.
For quality check, you would want to check spectrogram of same song from different sources. Spectrogram with more kHz, without cut-off or with good-spread spikes uniformly going to higher kHz. This simple thing is what we all need in life lol.
But these Indian Labels don't give a F about quality. I'm pleased by Sony Music Entertainment India Pvt. Ltd releasing songs and albums in highest quality for all quality lovers of Indian music.
Lastly, I'm trying to collect rips of old Indian music on internet and have collected quite a bit but the problem with them is non-uniform tagging and naming which I would not want to share as is (for they too count as quality for me). Stay connected, much more to come soon on website.
